Rebrand + Brand Book – Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture
The Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture was founded in 1989 by a group of professional architects, designers and artists who believed that Karachi was in critical need of a school of excellence encompassing the disciplines of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture. The Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture is dedicated to much more than producing technically competent artists, designers and architects. It strives to motivate and guide students to think, be curious, to keep themselves open to sources of experience and learning, to be politically aware and socially responsive and take an independent position, respecting knowledge and people of knowledge, with humility.
Why does IVS need visual and graphic standards? A strong and consistent visual identity made up of communication of strategic messages and strong graphic presentation is a necessary element for all communication emanating from IVS. A vibrant institutional identity projects excellence and professionalism, an image that is critical in attracting, retaining and engaging support from our audiences. Consistency of communication to both internal and external audiences reinforces a strong identity and reputation, and will help to effectively further shape our position in the market place. IVS recognises the need for distinctive expression within units and departments, and that these are critical to the communication and marketing process. Therefore, these standards have been developed with the intention of being flexible enough to allow individual and creative expression, while remaining true to the goal of the overall identity standards and provide clear and consistent communication.
