MY TAKE ON ‘HAPPINESS’: AN ARTICLE FOR THE FEZANA JOURNAL
When I was invited to contribute an article for the Summer 2017 issue of this journal on the theme of happiness it got me thinking about what happiness actually meant to me and what it really implied to be ‘happy’. In this article I will use the word ‘happy’ in inverted comas as I feel that one tends to use the term at times rather interchangeably for many other similar emotions and feelings.
Writing this piece did not come easy to me as I find the whole concept of happiness to be illusive and slippery, and hence I decided to embark on a micro research journey which included doing some reading and talking to people on the street, among other more personal undertakings.
Being a graphic designer by profession I tend to look at most things with that particular angle and I truly believe that everything around us is by design, consciously or subconsciously. We, as individuals, with varied personalities, design our own lives and hence we design our unique ‘happy’ in context. Will post link to the complete article shortly …
